Does anyone know where the problem lies here? Do LG TVs not have the ability to do this sort of seeking via DLNA or on those particular file types or is there something in JRiver that I can tweak?īTW the TV won't play FLAC files so I would be unable to use it to play my music without conversion, but then again I don't really want to play music on my TV! I'll continue to use the WDTV Live as an audio-only renderer. Is this called Time-Based seeking? but I would like to be able to use fast-forward and rewind on the TV's remote control rather than having to go to the iPad to do this. I can go to the controller (JRemote) and use the position slider control to move the video, this works fine. The same files can be fast-forwarded on the WDTV although, obviously, only in player mode as it won't respond to remote commands if initiated by an external controller. Video Conversion in JRiver is turned off. However, I'm finding I can't rewind or fast-forward through video - pressing those buttons on the remote control brings up an error along the lines of "this function cannot be used at this time". My previous experience has been that in DMR mode, a device can only be controlled by the device that initiated the connection. Secondly, even when in DLNA renderer mode, having initiated playback via JRemote, the TV will still repsonds to commands like pause, stop, and play from its own remote control. My other TV, and TVs generally, will only pass 5.1 if it's from an internal tuner. Two other nice surprises: it seems to pass 5.1 from HDMI inputs and from DLNA-streamed media to its optical audio out. I seems to respond quicker too than my WD TV Live. But time moves on I guess and although it's now 2013, this TV is a 2012 model and by now they should be getting it half right I suppose. 4) Router - the default gateway IP should be 192.168.0.1 - so thats your network gateway. Would be great to hear about members setup/configurations. 3) LG TV / IP address 0.3 - able to access the internet - so looking good for the wireless connection and on network - we may choose to set a fixed IP here later. I was surprised because up until now I always though TVs had the worst implementations of DLNA. Since quite a few members appear to be networking their televisions for Internet access and DNLA servers I thought it might be a good idea to have a dedicated thread to focus on these issues. I didn't think about DLNA at all but I've tried it as a renderer using JRiver/JRemote and it works really well with all formats of video I've thrown at it so far (.MKVs and. I've just bought a new LG smart TV (42LM670T), purely because I wanted a bigger set and also passive 3D.

It’s that simple, Catudal says, so don’t even think about trying to out-train a bad diet. For All Body Types, Diet Determines Your Body’s Size or Volume, While Exercise Determines Your Shape “This body type is usually a result of behavior, not genetics,” Catudal says, which means it can be improved with a healthier diet and exercise regimen. “The most common natural hybrids are ecto-mesomorphs, who have long, lean limbs and broader chests and shoulders, and endo-mesomorphs, who have thick but compact physiques that are muscular, not soft,” he says.Įndo-ectomorphs, on the other hand, tend to have thin legs but substantial fat storage in the midsection - which is usually because they’ve spent years consuming a poor-quality diet and being sedentary. We sometimes group people into general categories, but the good news is that being a combination body type means you have the strengths of two different body types to work with - for instance, you may naturally have both the endurance of an ectomorph and the muscle strength of a mesomorph, which can lead to big training gains. In most instances, body types lie on a spectrum, which means that you could have a dominant body type with a few characteristics of another one or a body type that has qualities that are evenly divided between two different ones, Catudal says. Most People Are Hybrids of Two Body Types Rather Than Pure Breeds Which means they’re not real!”Īnd that can leave the rest of us with potentially warped perceptions of what descriptors like “slender,” “lean,” “muscular,” and “big-boned” actually mean.Ģ. “The ‘body ideals’ that are portrayed in the media are often digitally altered or enhanced with special filters or other forms of manipulation. It’s easy to fall into these traps, Catudal says. The most common reasons for these cases of mistaken identity? People have general body insecurities, they have become deconditioned, or they’re excessively critical of their bodies. Meanwhile, some ectomorphs (who tend to be lean and slender with a small to medium frame and relatively long limbs) may identify themselves as endomorphs, especially if they have a soft midsection. Some endomorphs (who generally have a larger bone structure with wider hips, narrower shoulders, and more pear-shaped bodies) may believe they’re mesomorphs (who have naturally muscular, athletic builds). “Very few people see themselves accurately - in my experience, about 50 percent of people misclassify their body type,” Catudal says. There’s a Good Chance You’re Misclassifying Your Body Type (To get the process started, take the body type quiz.) Here are nine other things you probably didn’t know about the optimal ways to train for your body type. It’s a common mistake, Catudal says, and it can be easily remedied by properly identifying your body type - whether you’re an ectomorph, a mesomorph, or an endomorph - then figuring out how to challenge your body with the right regimen. (Full disclosure: I wrote the book with him from which the following tips come.) So it could be that you or the men and women you see at the gym are performing the right exercises the right way - but they’re optimal for someone else’s body type, not yours. “Each of us has a genetic and physiological design that determines our body type, or somatotype, and different body types have different responses to certain fitness programs,” says Catudal, a global health coach and the author of Just Your Type: The Ultimate Guide to Eating and Training Right for Your Body Type. RELATED: Everything You Need to Know About Exercise (Including How to Get Started) The answer is: She’s probably training the right way for her body type - something 70 percent of people are not doing, according to Phil Catudal, a celebrated National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)–certified personal trainer in the Los Angeles area. When, every once in a while, someone shows up with an enviously sculpted body, you may wonder: What is she doing differently? Take a look around your gym, and you’ll probably see people who are doing the same cardio routines, day after day, without gaining noticeable improvements in their body shape or composition. macOS Monterey will support the broadest lineup of Macs in history, including the latest iMac, MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini, as well as Apple’s Intel-based Macs. On a positive note I found the Chicken Soup was delicious and seemed to be freshly made and not canned. Maybe, but the further you get into windows and the direct3d/directx/whatever the more complicated you get. (Yes, they kept backward compatibility when they jumped up to 64 bit processors, but keeping it going will become less and less viable as technology progresses.)Īre emulators going to be reliable enough to run these things? Hell, eventually they will go to an new architecture all together much like when things jumped from 16 to 32 bit and suddenly all those old DOS things wouldn't work on the new computers. Yeah why really? Sure, Beamdog would probably use it to make another EE, but them aside the loss of the code also means a loss of the game in a historical sense.Ģ0 years from now are OS's going to use the same calls/system things/whatevers (sue me I'm not a coder) they are now? No, probably not. People have their own priorities, and quite often convenience is a thing they are willing to pay for (clearly, since the EE's seem to be selling quite well despite they many detractors I see on this site).Īlso, people being happy that the code is lost. What I'm saying is don't assume that because its easy for you to do, or you have time to do, or you think it should be done that way, doesn't mean it actually is that for anyone else. No, I'm not saying the EE"s are awesome sauce or whatever. Having a newer version of the game that they can just click "install" and then click "play" on are ideal fore these kinds of people.Įspecially when you get into older versions of games that, while they still technically run on modern OS's, may have issues or inconveniences that modern games don't have, and people won't want. Why spend that time learning how to even "run" the game when they can just be playing it instead? (Edit, my brother is also in the pretty damned busy category, what with kids and all.) Remember, just because you know such and such mod website is relatively safe doesn't mean that everyone does. People like my cousin who are busy busy busy who have better things to do than learning which mods are what, where they can be obtained reliably, and if there's anything special that needs to be done to install them. (My brother was guilty of this one, and he's not exactly stupid by any means, just not computer savvy sometimes.) People that might, say, accidentally end up installing malware on my mother's laptop making me deal with the headache of removing it all. I know plenty of intelligent adults who may enjoy a game like Baldur's gate or Icewind Dale but quite frankly have limited entertainment time, and/or limited experience with installing programs on computers. I'm relatively neutral on the whole deal myself (the existence of the EEs that is), but acting like its simple for everyone or its how it "should" be done is the naive thing. Just because you have the time and know how to dig up all the third party mods and install them doesn't mean other people do. Molerat: This attitude is one thing that always irked me (to say the least) about some of the anit-EE people. |
